Hiking in hill and mountain environment offers a chance to relax and enjoy the stunning views of deep dales, precipitous cliffs and craggy edges, to reconnect with the natural world and make new friends as you chat whilst enjoying the outdoors.
Lake District Guided Mountain and Hill Walking

Our guided walks are a great way of discovering and enjoying the amazing mountains and beautiful panoramas that the North West has to offer. Whether it’s an ascent of England’s highest peak – Scafell Pike, scrambling across Helvellyn’s iconic Striding Edge, taking in the vistas of the Fairfield Horseshoe, or learning to use a map and compass effectively and efficiently on a Navigation course we have something for everyone from all walks of life and levels of experience.
Difficulty Grading
To help you decide on your preferred level of adventure we have graded our Lake District Walks in the following way:
Fitness Level Required: This is an indication of the steepness and length of any ascents and the length of the whole walk.
- 3/5 Moderate length ascents or descents. Short steep ascents or descents
- 4/5 Long ascents or descents. Moderate steep ascents or descents
- 5/5 Long steep ascents or descents
Technical Difficulty: This is an indication of the difficulty of the terrain, whether any scrambling might be required.
- 2/5 Good mountain paths
- 3/5 Rough mountain paths
- 4/5 Rough mountainous terrain on unmarked paths requiring occasional use of your hands to aid progress.
- 5/5 Indicates easy scrambling terrain where previous scrambling experience would be desirable.
Head for Heights: An indication of the exposure of the walk.
Cost
Our guided walks cost £30 per person for a whole day and £15 per person for a half day. We require a minimum of 4 people for the walk to be able to take place (for smaller groups a supplement can apply to ensure the walk can operate please contact us).
